Outlines of the policy plan and report of the activities carried out
WFFR Foundation organizes the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam (WFFR) that will take place for the third time from 26-29 October 2016. WFFR is a multi-day film festival focused on the screening of wildlife films and documentaries. The festival will take place in the heart of Rotterdam, in Cinerama movie theatre. WFFR aims to realize a refreshing and inspiring film festival that raises awareness with the (beauty of the) nature in the Netherlands and abroad, and the importance of preserving it. WFFR is a private initiative set up by volunteers, and born from passion for animals, nature and movies. The festival is organised by a foundation with a (partly executive) board. The foundation itself is non-profit and works as creatively as possible with its (media) partners to realize the festival. The main program of the festival consists of a competition that is open to amateur and professional nature filmmakers from the Netherlands and abroad. A selection committee selects the films that will be screened at the festival. As an encouragement for talented filmmakers to enter into the competition, awards can be won in various categories. The expert jury will present these awards to the winning filmmakers in a festive manner. In addition, the WFFR includes educational activities for children as well as other activities (such as themed evenings).
The activities of WFFR Foundation in 2016 and 2017 are focused on the organization of the festival in 2017.
This consists, among other things, of raising funds, selecting films for the festival and making up the festival program.
WFFR Foundation will draw up and publish the annual account at 1 July 2017.
