The final day of the festival was a day filled with surprising encounters with nature on screen. For example the film Wild Cornwall – Out on the Edge was screened: a beautiful film about a lovely part of England, that is at least as fascinating as the most exotic destinations on our planet. From falcons to seals: the animals in the varied landscape were brought to the viewer in an enchanting way.
Awards Ceremony & Closing Film
Before the very last film of the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam 2017 (Wonders of the Sea 3D) the awards ceremony took place. A professional jury chose seven winning films in the different categories. The ‘Best Film Professional Award’ went to Giraffes: Africa’s Gentle Giants and in the category ‘Newcomer Award’, the winner was Budapest Inferno. Next to that, two movies won the ‘Public Choice Award’: Arjan’s Big Year, for non-professional and Spy in the wild: Intelligence for professional. Check out the other award winning movies here.
